Carson Jewelers is a member of the American Gem Society, which is an organization committed to holding jewelers to the highest ethical and professional standards in the industry.

Owner Tom Newcomer is a Graduate Gemologist from the Gemological Institute of America. Tom earned his degree in 1983 at the GIA’s educational facility in California. Tom also holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from McDaniel College and a Master’s in Business Administration in Finance from American University. He also holds the title of Certified Gemological Appraiser from The American Gem Society.

R. Bruce Carson's Jewelers features the area's only accredited gemological laboratory. The laboratory is used for diamond and colored stone grading, and gem identification. The laboratory has been accredited by the American Gemological Society.

Our jeweler Kevin Newhouse works on the premises. He graduated from Bowman Technical School in 1980 as a master jeweler and has over 20 years of jewelry experience. He is skilled and experienced in all phases of jewelry repair and custom jewelry manufacturing and is available for consultation.

Our watchmaker Russell Charlier also works on the premises. He graduated from the American Watchmakers and Clockmakers Institute and has previously been employed with such prestigious Swiss watchmakers as IWC. Carson’s possesses state-of-the-art watchmaking equipment and our watchmaker is qualified to work on the finest of Swiss timepieces.
